Mobexx has launched its new software utility, which is an easy and cost effective way to add Barcode scanning to any Windows 10 computer with integrated camera.

mobXscan utilises industry leading decoding algorithms to provide very fast scanning of almost any barcode, even damaged and very poor quality.

It’s been designed with a very simple interface for ease of use and outputs barcode data to the keyboard buffer, so wherever the cursor is focused it will enter data.  And there are very simple software controls to enable scanning from within applications.

XCZ1 ATEX Zone 1 Case for iPad Mini 4 is now shipping

After a long development process we are excited to announce that the XCZ1 has completed certification for both ATEX and IECEx Zone 1 and is shipping from the factory.

This ground breaking product enables the use of standard iPad Mini 4 tablets in Zone 1 hazardous areas, so enabling organisations that have standardised on IOS solutions to take mobility into all areas that the workforce goes.

Already adopted by some global organisations, the XCZ1 allows fast deployment into hazardous areas.

Mobexx is pleased to announce an agreement has been signed between Mobexx and Elektrometal SA which makes them the exclusive reseller of Aegex Intrinsically Safe Tablet solutions for the mining sector in Poland.

Aegex Mining Certification

Mobexx announces that Aegex Technologies LLC has added a mining certificate to its portfolio of global certifications of its Windows 10 Tablet PC for safe use in the world’s most hazardous industrial operations.

The Aegex10 Intrinsically Safe Tablet is the only Windows 10 tablet that is globally certified for the world’s most explosive industrial environments, where high concentrations of flammable gases, vapors, dusts or fibers are likely to occur in normal operation, such as in oil and gas, chemical manufacturing and other industries. Specifically, the tablet is approved for ATEX and IECEx Class 1 Zone 1, UL913 Class I, II and III Division 1 a-g and CSA 22.2 part 157 areas of hazardous locations. The Aegex10 is intrinsically safe, meaning it is designed to be incapable of generating energy sufficient to ignite a spark.

The Aegex10 has achieved a new certificate for safety in mining, which was granted by a certification body according to IECEx 60079 requirements and the ATEX directive. ATEX is the European Regulatory Framework for Manufacture, Installation and Use of Equipment in Explosive Atmospheres. IECEx standards apply to the use of equipment in areas where a potential may exist for fire or explosion.

This mining certification approves the Aegex10 for use in mining operations where methane and coal dust may be present, specifically for I M2 Ex ib I Mb. Aegex10 tablets which are now certified for mining operations throughout Europe, as well as international locations governed by IECEx, the International Electrotechnical Commission System for Certification to Standards Relating to Equipment for Use in Explosive Atmospheres.

“Mining is an important industry in many parts of the world. This additional certification for the Aegex10 Intrinsically Safe Tablet gives mining operators in Europe, Africa, Asia and elsewhere the ability to not only maintain real-time communications with their crews but to also access the data they need to make their operations safer and more efficient,” said Mark Dale-Lace, Director of Mobexx.
