mobXscan Android released

Mobexx is excited to announce the release of its powerful barcode scanning utility for Android to complement mobXscan Windows.

mobXscan Android offers easy to use integration of Barcode Scanning using the device camera and sending the data as a keyboard entry or directly integrated into an application.

The scanning performance is extremely fast and capable of reading all types of barcode including matrix codes such as QR.  Even very poor quality and damaged codes are read quickly and with ease.

Additional reading of postal symbologies and OCR is available on request to further enhance the capabilities and provide a solution for difficult applications.

mobXscan uses industry leading decoding technology developed by Honeywell over decades to provide the best scanning performance available.

Mark Dale-Lace, a Director of Mobexx commented: “mobXscan opens new opportunities to add barcode scanning to almost any mobile device.  It enables a low cost means of integrating scanning without the expense of a dedicated barcode scanner, and removing the need to have a separate scanning device or integrating a scanner module into mobile hardware.  We are very excited with the many applications we have identified that will benefit from mobXscan”.

A 30 day fully functional trial of mobXscan is available.  Please visit for more information and download.

M101P and M101S available with Resistive Touch Screen

Durable Resistive Touchscreen Option for Rugged and Harsh Environments

Mobexx expands the device options for the 10.1-inch Intel Pentium based Winmate M101P and Intel Core i5 powered Winmate M101S rugged tablets with the addition of a resistive touchscreen option. Mobexx is always looking to provide the best options for its customers no matter their application and this new touchscreen option is no exception. But what are the benefits of a resistive touchscreen in this day and age when projected capacitive multi-touch screens have already become the new norm in touchscreen technology?

Unlike capacitive touchscreens that register touch through conductivity, resistive touchscreens are force activated through pressure, which means that different forms of touch input can activate the screen, including fingers, fingernails, styluses, and gloved hands. This means that the tablet can be used in environments where liquids and rain droplets will be present on the touchscreen. The resistive touchscreen will not pickup these inadvertent inputs and create disruptions when completing your tasks. This allows for the M101 rugged tablet to be used in even more environments, especially heavy-duty application areas and outdoor use where there will be contaminants that may cause unintended touch inputs.
